In order to serve you most efficiently, we work by appointment, and we try our best to stay on schedule.  Emergency cases shall always receive top priority followed by patients with previously scheduled appointments. Please plan to arrive on time for your appointment to avoid being rescheduled.  Walk-ins will be scheduled into the next available appointment spot.  Please call us immediately if you can not keep your alloted appointment.

Trooper Veterinary Hospital's Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. We do not do billing. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and personal checks. We also accept Care Credit, which you may apply for at www.CareCredit.com

Patient Arrival Policy

Please check in at the front counter upon arrival. We provide separate dog and cat waiting areas for the comfort of your pets. We also have a childrens play area.

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats and other small animals must be presented in an appropriate carrier, cage or on a leash.

Pet Adoption

Trooper Veterinary Hospital does not buy, sell, trade or provide adoption services.  We do however keep information on Lost and Found animals as well as information provided to us for animals in need of homes(free).  Feel free to brouse the albums in our lobby.

HOSPITAL POLICY

Our principal function is to render medical and surgical care to pets. However, as a service to our clients, lodging facilities are maintained. Reservations are required to insure proper kenneling for your pet. During the summer months and holiday periods, reservations should be made well in advance.

Animals are admitted only with the following understandings:

  • Fleas, ticks, etc. will be treated at our discretion, at regular charges. Pets often harbor these pests without the owner’s knowledge.
  • All animals must have proof of a current vaccination status. Any animal not up to date will get their booster vaccinations upon entering the hospital. An exam fee and Vaccination fees well be charged.
  • Our staff will do everything possible to protect the health of your pet. This includes vaccinations against common diseases and extensive use of disinfectants during hospital and kennel cleaning. However, not all animals develop an adequate immunity to some vaccines and there are no vaccines for many common diseases. This can be a particular problem with parvovirus in dogs and upper respiratory diseases in dogs and cats. Should your pet become ill while boarding, treatment for the illness will commence immediately. Normal hospital, diagnostic, and treatment rates will be charged.
  • Lodging charges begin on the day of arrival, regardless of the time of admission, and continue through and including the day of pickup.  If you pick up BEFORE noon on the last day, you will not be charged for that day.
  • 48 hours advance notice is required for cancellations.
  • Hospitalized Patient Discharge Time will be at the discretion of the attending veterinarian but is usually between 3 and 6 p.m.
  • Fees will be paid in full upon discharge of your pet. We cannot bill you or carry a balance for you.

Once leaving the hospital, your pet will be confronted with your welcome; a car ride; the stimulating sights, sounds and smells of home; and a possible surplus of food and water. An animal may gulp food and/or water and may develop vomiting or diarrhea. In order to avoid these conditions and to provide for the comfort of your pet and your peace of mind, do not permit your pet access to food or water for at least an hour after arriving at home. Then give small amounts of food and water often, until your pet has adjusted to normal home life.

If vomiting or diarrhea occurs, withhold all food and water for 12 hours, then begin giving your pet small amounts of food and water. If vomiting or diarrhea persists you should call the office for additional advice.
